Hello and welcome to the Living Hope Church website!
Our names are Jack and Mez Carter and it’s our privilege and joy to lead Living Hope Church.
We previously helped plant The Oak Church in Farsley, as part of a team from Mosaic Church in central Leeds. That was over 14 years ago and over a period of several years we heard God speak clearly about planting a new church into East Leeds.
We have three children (12, 9 and 6) and as a family we like to swim in the sea, enjoy food and meet new people.
We are one of five families called to move to east Leeds to launch this church and our hope and prayer is that we will see God move in power in the lives of many people in the area.
When we launched Living Hope Church in September 2024, we started by meeting in our house. However, as others have joined us we have outgrown this space and so we began to meet at the Cross Gates Methodist Church Hall from September 2025.
We gather on a Sunday morning from 10am.

Our Vision and Values
Over the course of four Saturdays in 2024 a group met in Manston to worship, pray, eat and share what God had been speaking to us about starting a new church in east Leeds.
We prayed and listened to God to seek to know his leading.
- What did God our Father want a new church to be like?
- What should be the priorities of the new church?
- How should the new church be named?
Each Saturday had a different theme:
